This is the story of a young woman, Lilith Akashakana, whose life has somehow been pulled into a mysterious journey. This is the journey of everyone on the quest for truth about what is really going on now, here on Earth, in our times. Are there ancient secrets that explain our times and the possibility of power shifts and even Earth changes to come? Who knows the truth about all this? And who has a right to access this truth? Lilith Akashakana is determined to access this information she believes is her, our, birthright. She travels to homes of ancient tribes such as the Mayans who know what she has been told is the true medicine and the true truth.

She has broken out of the normal path of life she had been expected to follow, and now is in search of meaning and truth, as well as of ancient survival knowledge teachings. Many events have taken place in her young life, including the recent death of her mother, and her being raped by someone who had access to the survival teachings she was so intent upon learning. Some sort of transfer of power has taken place, and Lilith is being called to know this.

This novel can be read free standing or as the sequel to Maka Shan, which is Volume One of this Maka Shan Saga. Volume One closes with our heroine barely surviving a strange form of captivity, and finally free. Now, in Volume Two, The Great Return, she embarks on a journey to understand the teachings she had absorbed during this very trying time, and finds out, much to her surprise, that there is an ancient tribe of medicine women seeking to come back into the now to influence the course of history and the fate of this Earth.
